I remember hearing a while back that a live-action adaptation of the 1988 anime Akira was being created and that it was starring Leonardo DiCaprio. I quickly forgot all about it until I saw Ruairi Robinson’s short film The Silent City. Ruairi Robinson is tapped as the director of the new Akira film and watching his short film has got me excited about the prospects.
